The sea at heart

The Quimper Bretagne Occidentale area is the support base for the Cornouaille coastline and hosts many activities and services linked to the sea. Quimper, the capital of Cornouaille, flies the flag for marine values.

Quimper Bretagne Occidentale is:

• an area of production with the port of Corniguel.

The maritime entrance to Quimper, providing 8000 m² of quayside with developed and flat land, near to Quimper’s city centre and all infrastructures (airport, railway station, Expressway...)

Several companies are already located there: the Vedettes de l'Odet (passenger ferries), the Corniguel shipyard, Sablimaris (sand productions), Lafarge Bétons de l’Ouest (concrete)…

• an entry point to the sea (the Odet estuary)
• the support base for the Cornouaille Fishing Port representing 5,500 jobs, 25% of the French fishing catch and including 4 maritime districts (Douarnenez, Audierne, Le Guilvinec, Concarneau).
• the seat of many support structures such as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Quimper Cornouaille, the Regional Council, the headquarters of the Credit Maritime, ABAPP (the Breton association of produce buyers), the Regional Committee of Fisheries, DDTM (Regional Department of Land and Sea), Technopole...

• where there are many dynamic companies such as:
  • Ufast (manufacture of semi-rigids and professional boats)
  • Marinelec (design and manufacture of electronic equipment, maritime surveillance and alarms)
  • Meralliance (smoked fish production)
